Project Fluent

Sales Enablement for the Built Environment

When I pivoted from technical to sales, I hit a lot of walls and took tons of wrong turns. I devoured books, took courses, got mentors, joined groups, and hired coaches. Once I found a formula that worked, I added structure made it a repeatable system ๐Ÿค“. I leaned into my decade of technical knowledge and job site experience and applied it to the sales systems that were already out there.

This is the minimum amount of information and actions needed to reach your financial goals as a building products sales professional. As a single mother of 3 kids, I wanted and needed more time at home, evenings at baseball or band practices, or with 1:1 time with my daughter. Not on the road.

The 5 Key Areas:

  1. Clarity: have a north star, a Why to hold onto on the tough days
  2. Market Intel: clear on my competitors, my ideal project, and ideal accounts
  3. Technical Mastery: knowing the product I sold, the complementing ones, and the unfair advantage
  4. Field Readiness: walking onto all my projects’ job sites, visiting clients in the field: world changing
  5. Stakeholder Savvy: I made a cheat sheet to know exactly who to talk to at what part of the project journey and what they each needed from me at those times. That way, I was adding value, never bothering. Applying this took MUCH trial and error, and you have to use it or lose it. A lot of the people who helped me come up with this cheat sheet didn’t score very high on the assessment! ๐Ÿ˜ณ

This framework helped me grow from zero pipeline to $6.4M in under 18 months, then to generating $211K/month in sales in a market where I knew no one. The person who inherited my pipeline ended up having a GREAT year, but without continuing to prospect using my framework, they struggled to maintain that momentum (that’s when I knew I had stumbled into something that could be repeated by anyone and decided to share it with others).

Later, I used this same approach to transform a struggling business unit with no funnel and negative margins to 78% profitability with a $40M pipeline in less than 3 years.

Today I teach this field-tested methodology because this is the guide I wish Iโ€™d had starting out. It’s built for teams who need to reset, rise, or reinvent how they sell in an evolving market.
